In a descriptive comparative survey design, this study compared the emotional and behavioral difficulties of Grade 1 pupils who were transitioning from modular to physical classes to the demographic profile of their primary carers. Using the Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) by Goodman (1997), 169 carers completed the parent version of said to assess the level of difficulty of the pupils. The findings revealed that the level of emotional and behavioral difficulties, as perceived by carers, did not experience clinical emotional or behavioral challenges during the transition, with a difficulty level of 13.5. However, the pupils had challenges in socializing with peers. Additionally, it is crucial for carers and educators to remain vigilant, as the total difficulties mean score was borderline on the scale at 13.5, indicating the possibility of future emotional and behavioral difficulties that need attention. These findings highlight the importance for policymakers and educators to design programs and interventions that provide support for the pupils during school reopening, regardless of their demographic backgrounds. Ensuring the emotional and behavioral well-being of all students during this transition is essential. ER -
